You want to develop a talk or workshop for a design conference. You know there is huge value in sharing knowledge and lessons learned with your community. But, it feels impossible to do! What could it even be about?! This workshop will help you crack the code for successfully designing a talk or workshop topic using the skills you already have. You’ll apply principles from psychology, memoir writing, and conference masters to uncover what your talk can and should be about. Then, you’ll leverage techniques from user research, content strategy, information architecture and interaction design to develop ideas, test them out, and build an awesome proposal. You’ll leave the workshop with a plan and resources to finish and present your next talk or workshop in your local community and even IXDA2017!
Your Killer IXDA Talk
Leah Rader
Leah has been asking questions for 17 years as a design researcher on physical and digital products and services. She has informed the design for financial tools and products, electric cars, travel websites and mobile apps, digital healthcare tools, and education platforms. Though she uses all methods, from ethnography to usability, she prefers to make stuff with research participants (like lists, sketches, and maps) in order to discover what they think, feel and do.
