Lara Hanlon
Software Product Designer, IBM
Working as a Software Product Designer at IBM Design, Lara focuses on user experience and user interface design. Collaborating daily with a global team of designers and engineers, her goal is to deliver creative solutions for complex enterprise applications. Currently working on the IBM Security portfolio, Lara is also involved in educating global teams about design and regularly facilitates IBM Design Thinking workshops, both internally and externally.
Lara graduated from the Design in Visual Communications course at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design + Technology in 2013 and in July 2014 secured a position on the IBM Design Programme at IBM’s flagship design studio in Austin, Texas. She is now based at the IBM European Design Centre in Dublin.
In 2014 Lara’s graduate project éntomo was awarded the New Star Award at the Shenzhen Design Awards for Young Talents in China, organised in association with UNESCO Creative Cities Network. A selection of her work to date has been exhibited at Milan Design Week 2015, Italy; Liminal – Irish design at the threshold, Ireland; and China. An active member of the Irish design community, Lara is a Professional Panelist at 100 Archive – a living archive that records the past, present and future of Irish graphic design; and in 2015 was an invited speaker at IxDA: Defuse Dublin.
